Legal considerations
IVF for married couples using own gametes is straightforward under Indian law. Donor egg and donor sperm are legally available under Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines with appropriate consent procedures. Surrogacy for foreign nationals was legally restricted in India under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act 2021 — altruistic surrogacy for Indian couples only; commercial surrogacy banned. Do not plan any surrogacy arrangement involving India as a Bangladeshi couple.
Visa for IVF
IVF patients apply for a Medical (MED) visa. The IVF clinic’s International Patient Desk can issue an AYUSH-compliant invitation letter. Note that IVF requires multiple visits — plan for at least 2–3 India trips per treatment cycle (baseline scans, egg retrieval, transfer). A triple-entry MED visa is important for this reason.

Are IVF success rates documented in India?
Major IVF chains publish per-cycle success rates. Verify clinic-level data before committing; success rates vary significantly by patient age, diagnosis, and protocol.
