Germany is one route from Bangladesh among many, and each has its own rules, costs and paperwork. This page is the starting point: it says which guide to open for your purpose, what makes this destination different, and where the official sources are so you can confirm every figure before you pay or travel.
Start with your purpose
The guides below cover these routes in full: what each costs, what to submit, where to apply and how long it takes. Open one for the detail, and use the official sources on this page to confirm anything you intend to act on.
- Germany visa guide for Bangladeshi applicants: routes, the fee that applies to you, required documents and application steps.
- Blocked account for Bangladeshi students in Germany: which providers are accepted, what has to be deposited and the transfer steps.
- Schengen short-stay visa for Bangladeshi citizens: how the visa works across member states, what it costs and where to apply.
What is different about Germany
Germany applies the Schengen fee rather than a national one, and several groups are exempt entirely, including children under 6 and school pupils on study trips. One caution: the documentary verification charge some applicants meet is not a visa fee and should not be budgeted as one.
Official sources
These are the sources the numbers on this site are read from. Confirm them at the source before you act, because fees and appointment rules change without notice.
- European Commission, DG HOME, applying for a Schengen visa, fee levels; dated 2 December 2025.
- German Embassy Dhaka, visa fees, fees payable in Bangladesh; no date displayed.
How this page is maintained
Every figure here carries the source it came from and the date that source was read. Where a figure could not be confirmed against a dated official source, it is left out rather than estimated. If something here no longer matches the official page, that is worth telling us about.
