Canada Visa Guide for Bangladeshis (2026)

Guidance and resources for Bangladeshi readers.

At a glance

Where should a Bangladeshi applicant start?

Start with the visa purpose and the destination requirements in this guide, then use the linked official sources to confirm the current rules before you pay or apply. Read the pathways, the fee, the documents and the application details in order, then confirm your next step against the official source.

The route, document and fee claims on this page were checked against the IRCC visitor visa page linked in Source; the processing-time figures, the VFS Dhaka detail and the 10-year multiple-entry note are not published there and are not covered by that check. Where that page contradicted the page, the page was corrected. Checked 2026-09-16. Requirements change — check the official source before you apply.

Visa fees

IRCC charges are set centrally and are identical worldwide, so a Bangladeshi applicant pays the same amounts as anywhere else, plus biometrics. The visitor visa and the biometrics fee are separate charges.

Canada visitor visa and biometrics fees, IRCC schedule
ChargeAmount
Visitor visa (TRV), per person, single or multiple entryCAD $100
Visitor visa, per family of 5 or more peopleCAD $500
Biometrics, per personCAD $85
Biometrics, family maximum (where eligible)CAD $170
Transit visaNo fee

A single applicant therefore pays CAD $100 plus CAD $85 in biometrics. The family caps matter if you are applying together, because the biometrics charge stops at CAD $170 rather than multiplying per person.

The visa and biometrics fees are paid to IRCC online through your secure account. Biometrics are enrolled and documents transmitted through the VFS Global Canada Visa Application Centres in Dhaka and Chittagong. VFS also charges optional service fees in taka for things like courier and premium services; those are not part of the IRCC fee and are not published with a date, so no figure is given here.

Required documents

Passport (6+ months validity) required

Original passport signed, with at least two blank visa pages.

Passport photo (35Ă—45 mm) required

Recent colour photo, white background — meets the /tools/visa-photo-checker/ spec.

Confirmed return ticket may be requested

Itinerary — flight details (recommended, not required). IRCC lists “flight details” among the itinerary items you can include to show how long you plan to stay. No IRCC requirement says a confirmed return or onward ticket is needed, and none ties a ticket to the visa duration.

Accommodation proof may be requested

Proof of accommodation (recommended, not required). IRCC lists “proof of accommodation” among the itinerary items you can include. IRCC does not qualify it as covering the full stay.

Bank statement — at least 6 months may be requested

At least 6 months of account details, including balances (IRCC’s visitor-visa recommended documents). For a study permit, IRCC asks for bank statements “for the past 6 months, including the month you submitted your application or the month prior”. IRCC publishes no 3-month rule and no minimum balance (the only published minimum is the study-permit living-expense figure of CAD 23,448 for one person).

Invitation letter may be requested

Letter of invitation — sometimes required. IRCC: “Sometimes, when you apply for a visa to visit Canada, we ask you to give us a letter of invitation from someone in Canada.” If you are visiting a person or business in Canada, your purpose-specific instructions say you must include the letter (and proof of your relationship to the inviter).

NOC from employer may be requested

Letter from your employer (recommended, not required). IRCC asks for “a letter from your employer”, printed on official letterhead, confirming your job and that you will return to it. IRCC does not require a no-objection certificate or leave approval.

Yellow fever certificate not required

No IRCC authority requires a yellow fever certificate for a Canadian visa, and no IRCC visa or medical requirement states it for Bangladeshi applicants — it cannot be attributed to IRCC.
