Can AbroadGuideBD guarantee a visa?
No, and no one can. The decision belongs to the destination mission. What we do is document the published rules, the documents each mission asks for, and the steps — with the source shown for every one. We can help you get the file right; we cannot decide the outcome.
How current is a cost figure?
Every figure carries the day it was read. If that date is old, the record is marked for recheck rather than quietly left in place. And because we publish only the band a source publishes, a treatment with no sourced band shows a gap, not an estimate — a gap tells you to ask the hospital directly, which an average would hide.
Who can travel as an attendant?
It depends on the destination, and the two corridors where it is clearest are the ones with the most movement. For India, the official e-Visa portal states the general rule directly: only two e-Medical Attendant Visas are granted against one e-Medical Visa, on the same terms as the patient's visa. For Thailand, the official page that sets out the Non-Immigrant "O" Medical Treatment visa does not state an attendant allowance, and we found no official source that does — so for a Thai trip we point you at the embassy's current guidance rather than an assumed number. Malaysia files the companion under its own social-visit route, and Singapore treats a companion as a normal visitor. The medical-visa page states what each destination publishes, with the date.
Do you give medical advice?
No. The site organises medical-travel information. It does not diagnose, recommend a treatment or predict an outcome.
Why show a data gap instead of an estimate?
Because an estimate you cannot check is worse than a gap you can see. A gap tells you to ask the hospital directly.
Is the medical visa the same for every country?
No — and this is the most common misunderstanding we see. India has a dedicated medical category, the e-Medical Visa, which runs 365 days from arrival and permits multiple entries. Thailand's medical route is the Non-Immigrant "O" Medical Treatment visa, for stays longer than 60 days. Malaysia publishes no medical-visa class at all — it files treatment as a Visa Without Reference (social visit) through the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council's authorised partners. And Singapore publishes no medical-visa class either — Bangladeshi travel-document holders apply for an entry visa for a business or social visit. Two of the four corridors have no "medical visa"; a page that says otherwise is describing a route that does not exist.
How long does the medical visa take?
It is published per mission, and the honest answer is that we quote the destination's own figure rather than predict a decision. Where a mission publishes a lead time, we show it with its date. Thailand's Non-O Medical Treatment route, for example, is filed at least 15 working days before travel. For Singapore the entry visa is processed in 3 working days. Where a destination has not published a time, the record shows the gap.
How much money can leave Bangladesh for treatment?
There is a published ceiling, and it is worth knowing early. Under Bangladesh Bank's foreign-exchange rules, a release above USD 200 requires a valid visa, and for travel on health grounds up to USD 15,000 may be released by an Authorised Dealer on the recommendation of a registered physician or hospital. A case that exceeds that envelope needs a different financial-documentation route arranged in advance.
Where do your figures come from?
From the destination itself, wherever possible: a hospital's own fee schedule, an embassy or ministry page, a national health authority. Every claim is listed in our public citation ledger with the level it was recorded at and the date it was checked. Where a claim cannot be traced to a public source, it does not appear on this site.
