Visa fees
Japan waives the visa fee for Bangladeshi nationals. The embassy states it directly: visa fees are free for Bangladeshi nationals, and no fee is required. The waiver covers short-term single, double and multiple-entry visas for sightseeing, business, visiting relatives and transit, and long-term categories as well.

The fee is therefore not what you pay. The VFS service fee is, and the embassy does not publish its amount, so no figure is given here.
Since 3 November 2024 the embassy no longer accepts applications directly. All applications go through VFS Global at the Japan Visa Application Centre, Delta Life Tower, 4th Floor, Plot 37, Road 90, Gulshan-2, Dhaka.
One timing point matters more than the fee. The embassy warns that in peak periods, mid-March to early June and mid-September to late October, applicants may wait more than one month for a VFS appointment, with slots for the following month generally released on the 15th.
