Every Bangladeshi travelling to a GCC country for work or residency must pass the GAMCA medical fitness examination, now run under the Wafid branding. This guide explains what the exam covers, how centre allocation works, how to read your report, and how to check status officially. What the exam covers
The GAMCA / Wafid medical is a fitness-for-employment screen. The standard battery includes blood tests, a chest X-ray and screening for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and hepatitis. HIV-positive findings are a GCC-wide bar for work visas. Minor findings such as mild anaemia usually pass with a note; active TB requires treatment and a retest after recovery.
How centre allocation works
You do not choose your centre. The Wafid system assigns one based on your passport details and city of residence. You book the appointment, attend with your passport and the posted fee, and complete the exam on the day. Most centres return reports within one to three days, though some run to seven.
Reading your report

Checking status officially
The only genuine status check is the official Wafid portal. The GAMCA / Wafid tool on this site opens that official checker behind our verification panel, confirms the domain before you type anything, and guides you through the two fields it asks for. Your reference number comes from the centre on exam day — keep it with your receipt.
