Medical destination / India

India, for a patient going from Dhaka

India takes roughly four in five Bangladeshi patients who travel abroad for treatment. This page is the shortlist, the money and the sequence — in that order.

Your medical reports, in any format. A coordinator reads them and replies with hospitals, a cost band and the visa route — no account, nothing payable to start.

Two things that decide the trip before the hospital does

The e-Medical visa’s validity window is shorter than a transplant recovery. A patient who needs four to six weeks post-operative cannot stay on the window the e-Medical route gives them. Ask the mission for the exact window against your treatment date before you book.

Two attendant numbers, two different instruments. The e-Medical Visa carries two attendant visas; the regular Medical Visa carries three. Both figures are correct, which is why they appear to contradict each other elsewhere.

The sequence, in the order it bites

  • Hospital letter first — no application opens without it
  • Visa on the right instrument — it decides attendants and window
  • Date confirmed against recovery, ward and return flight
  • Pickup booked with the flight number, 72 hours out

If the corridor closes

India can be switched off

India suspended visas for 22 months from August 2024 and reopened on 28 June 2026. During that window Kolkata volumes fell by four fifths. Any plan that depends on one corridor needs a second one priced beside it.

Three to start with

Named because they are register-verified and carry the specialties patients arrive for — not because anyone paid to be here.
